AC Weekly – March 11, 2026
Enjoy. Discuss. Share.
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Lord, and King!
We continue today with our goal of bringing you something each week that is beneficial, uplifting, and encouraging. We hope something here may brighten your day. And if you think it might brighten someone else’s day, please share it with them!
1. Something to Discuss
Scripture:
Ephesians 6:2-3 (ESV)
“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.”
See also (Included at bottom): (Deut. 4:40; 5:16; 5:33; 6:3; 6:18; 12:25; 12:28; 19:13; 22:7; Jer. 7:23; Jer. 38:20).
Consider:
Throughout Scripture, God repeats a simple, tender refrain: “that it may go well with you.” From the laws of Deuteronomy to the warnings of Jeremiah and the promise carried into Ephesians, God reveals that His commands are not arbitrary rules but are expressions of His deep desire for our flourishing. Obedience is not a transaction we make with Him — it is alignment with the way life is meant to work. When we walk in His ways, we step into the goodness He has always intended for His people.
And this promise stretches beyond our own lives. Again and again, God ties obedience to the well‑being of “your children after you,” reminding us that faithfulness plants seeds that outlive us. Even His warnings come from a Father’s heart, calling His people back so that life, peace, and blessing can take root again. And in Christ, the invitation remains: walk in His ways, trust His heart, and discover that His commands lead not to burden but to life — life that goes well, life that blesses others, life that reflects the goodness of the One who gave it.
Discussion Question:
What are some commands that people might initially see as being too restrictive, and how could those same commands be understood as expressions of God’s care?

2. Something to Share
Each week, we share something in the spirit of Philippians 4:8. This week’s feature again reminds us that there’s still good in the world:
This Week’s Feature
A pair of skiers at Palisades Tahoe were making their way across deep snow when they noticed something strange: the tips of two skis barely poking above the surface. They stopped immediately, started digging, and uncovered a man who had been completely buried by a snow slide. Their quick instincts and willingness to interrupt their day saved his life.
What stands out is how ordinary people, without any special equipment or training, became exactly the help someone needed at exactly the right moment. It’s a reminder that attentiveness and compassion can turn a normal day into a life-changing one.
There’s something deeply hopeful about the way strangers step in for one another, especially when no one is watching and no recognition is expected.
